Danish Cord for chair seating

Y-chair with paper cord natural

A seat covered with paper string gives a slightly exclusive impression and a feeling of craftsmanship. The advantage of a braided seat is that it's relatively simple and cheap to braid again, with a little practice the result will be really good. Braiding a chair can vary in time, a chair like Mogensen's J39 takes about 2-4 hours while a Y-chair slightly longer. Then you can of course go on Wegner's CH-25 which is considerably much more complicated and time consuming.

Our paper ropes are water-repellent, which makes them less sensitive to moisture. However, care should be taken to spill liquid as the ropes can easily discolour. The paper strings intended for chair braiding are braided themselves, which makes them very flexible and strong.

We offer two coarse sizes of paper strings, 3 and 3.5 mm both in the color black and natural colored.

If it's the case that you do not want to braid your chair yourself, we can of course help you with that. You are more than welcome to contact us for a offer.
