Recto Shellac solvent is the best solvent for dissolving shellac flakes to the desired concentration.

You can mix in many different parts but a good rule of thumb is to mix about 1 hg of shellac flakes per 0.5 liter of solvent.
Description:
Put the shellac in a jar and pour in solvent. It takes about 24 hours for the shellac to dissolve. Gently shake the jar regularly for a faster process. Before use, the mixture should stand to avoid bubbles.
